چکیده
The identification of the Oil/Water Contact (OWC) in a hydrocarbon reservoir is crucial for determination its volume and it also important detailed petrophysical calculations. Estimation OWC requires Free Water Level (FWL). Routine practice oil gas industry involves drilling multiple discovery wells since undulation rock layers confining does not generally enable single well to intercept water phase. Well expensive looks forward approaches reduce number required estimation OWC. In this context, paper presents proof-of-concept probe measure pore pressure oil-water saturated porous rock. This would allow predicting depth FWL reservoirs even if go through could significantly improve appraisal process guide campaigns, saving time, money reducing environmental impact search. prototype was validated at laboratory scale via measurements core plugs with oil. Mock-up tests on sandstone have shown that can successfully samples as long phase continuous space. has therefore provided technology now be moved next readiness level.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
A model for transport of hydrogen sulfide in oil- and water-saturated porous media
In several oilfields, reservoir souring by generation of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) occurs in secondary recovery during which seawater is injected into originally sweet reservoirs. At the production site, high concentrations of H2S can cause severe damage to both equipment and human personnel. Proper modeling of H2S concentration in produced fluids can be useful for decision-making duringfield deve...
متن کاملEstimation of pore water pressure in the body of earth dams during construction with intelligent models
One of the basic measures in managing the stability of earth dams is to accurately estimate the amount of pore water pressure in the body of the dam during and after its construction. In this study, three different models of artificial neural network (ANN), adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and gene expression programming (GEP) to estimate the pore water pressure in the body of Kab...
متن کاملA pressure-induced strength transition in water-saturated geologic materials
Porous, water-saturated geologic materials exposed to shock wave loading should undergo a gradual transition from a Terzaghi solid to a much stronger and stiffer material as the confining pressure increases over the range of about 0.2 GPa to about 2 GPa. This transition can thus be expected to become important in cases such as high explosive or nuclear cratering events in which ground shocks in...
